Looking to buy a boat, suggestions

I am looking at a 21' bayliner trophy with 8.5' beam. I think it would be sufficient for salmon/browns/steel on Lake Ontario but would like some feedback from others. Is it big enough to handle Lak O? 150HP Outboad with a 9.9HP "trolling motor" Thanks for your help.

any good places to find a nice used boat for less than $15,000 that would be bigger? They don't sell too many boats that big down here in PA. Thanks.

Search craigslist (cities)from Watertown to buffalo along the the lake, watch the lake forums. Like CP said check out the marina's, Arneys in Sodus has a few listed. I just bought a 24' Penn Yan buy doing what I mentioned above and drive to Marina's look to see what had for sale signs on them that were not posted any where for sale. I'm sure in the next month or so there will be alot of boats for sale.

    How many extra days???

How many more days will you be able to get out in a 25'er over a 21' especially a trophy walkaround. they are a good sturdy boat. I run a 19.5' and there are only a handfull of weekends that I could get out on ontario in a slightly bigger boat. Most of those weekends I will hit oneida if I cant handle the lady O. IMHO, if it is too bad for me and my little aluminum tub it is too bad for most of the 20'ers. But it all comes back to comfort also.

Now if you were talking a 28 -30.....

Buy the best and newest you can afford because you will get hooked and want more, bigger, newer......

you are coming in to the end of boating season, BEST time to buy a boat for little money!! especialy these days!! With Higher gas prices and the economy the way that it is, there are many many many people getting rid of gas powered toy's (BOATS).

and I will definately agree with scottfishon, if you can, going bigger never hurts.
