Well I got out for the first paid trip of the year last night. After tugging on some Friday night Thom decided to bring a guest and get in on some more Sharks. He brought Judy along........he should bring her everytime as her landing ratio is 100% and having her around even seemed to increase his...
Got out for the first time at night yesterday eveningwith my buddy Thom on the rods. Quite a few fish around out front considering how early it is. Lots of fish from 40 to 60 feet. Then very very few form 40 back into the river with some milling around at the mouth. Did well hooked 10 or 12 in...
Fishing has been all over the place lately good - bad - Ok -great and repeat- the last few days have been the best of the season I'm happy to say- family fun- I hear -hey daddy that rod!- OK davio he's yours- A minute later I hear hey daddy that rod!- mommas turn-
We had a good morning, with lots of action. The only problem, was that we got our butts handed to us and couldn't seem to land anything. Salmon are nasty! And I don't like them much. We fished in 95 fow from the puffer back towards Catfish, and hit 9 fish, most of which were on a green...
150-160' of water - down 110-125' fly/spinny combos - white & green standard issue colors. Trout fishing has slowed down but it's still is OK-
The Salmon will come. But till then............
We'll fish for anything that bites! well almost anything- Brown trout fishing has been borderline stupid lately-
Fishing has been so/so around our end of the big lake- there's still some nice eyes roaming around the harbors at night- and some decent browns in 50-70' off the Salmon River by day
Walleye and bass fishing has been HOT on Oneida Lake. Slow trolling worms/spinners and casting lures has been productive. Mobilty is key for daytime fish- cover several area and different depths is key. I recently upgraded to a 20' Lund w/ 115 4 stroke Merc. This has the mobility advantage over the...
Some nights have had quality other nights it's been quantity. Other then getting blown off this past weekend it's been a good start to the 2010 walleye season.
April has been quite the month for steelhead fishing the Salmon River. Not quite up to par for a typical April but still consistantly good over all. We def had to work for them but that makes us appretiate each one even more. Being out every day will help keep the guests on fish.
Here's a few pictures from each trip from the past few days. Beads, plugs, flies, PW's all working, keep changing it up seemed to trigger the bites.
the last few weeks have been consistently good- from 750 to 1800 back to 285 - from the upper river to the lower river there's been enough action to make us happy
a few from the upper end
way down
Is the best way to describe this month- Fishing this month has been driving me MAD! Great one day, tough the next. Just when you think it's going well BAM the fish quit biting. I know that's how fishing goes! On the bright side the fish have been good size and there's freshies to drop backs and...
IMO Feb was a good month. Fishing was decent over all. Even on the tougher days we searched hard and managed to scratch out average #s. We had chances at some bruisers and even landed a few. It's been a mix of fresher and darker fish. Beads have been unbeadable.
Had some VERY good days floatin da riva! Got to love Feb- very light pressure and lotsa chromas:cool2: covering alot of water thru mid-lower river has certanily helped numbers;) Lots of eager brown trout help as well. Beads and bags under floats have been producing:fishfight:
fishings been up and down lately- we've been finding fish up and down in the river- plastic, rubber and bait have all been producing- here's a few from recent trips-
