Waterfall Side of the Oak...

Was board and not catching anything and wanted to use the new digi so i took some pics of the waterfall at Oak.

Three years ago in September the water looked like that. We hammered the browns and salmon by casting flies on a spinning rod into the white water. Had a blast and hardly anyone fishing. To top it off, some idiot with a kayak rode down over the falls....yes he lived, his buddies filmed it, they hooted and hollered for him......I just kept casting into the water.:D

I was thinking about it but it was a tad to fast for me to go stand in... i might of beenable to but following my better judgment and being alone i didn't want to risk it. Cuz you couldn't see where the giant pool started and the shallows dropped off...

Right behind that foam in your first pix is a giant flat rock to stand on.. Its pretty shallow and easy to get to that rock..... Dont try and get directly in front of the falls or to the far side in that flow.. Its hairy and it drops off quick in spots.. A real leg breaker..... Sounds like you used your head and said a fish aint worth it , which was smart......... Go up there when its down and you will see how it is layed out around that falls...........

Yeah i've know what your talken about... The water was dirty and didn't want to risk it like i said... but i think this weekend i'm gona go give it a try again no matter what cuz i'm gona be going up with a friend. I might hit Burt of another small trib if not Oak though.
