The Holidays are over but what better way to cheer up a recovering soldier than by sending him or her a few copies of your favorite Hunting, fishing or any kind of magazine. If you don't have a magazine, send a card of thanks.

Mail them to;

A Recovering American Soldier

c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

6900 Georgia Avenue,NW

Washington, D.C. 20307-5001

These men and women all welcome your warm wishes and appreciation and, believe it or not, many don't receive mail.

How nice to receive a card of thanks or a magazine from the public they were trying to protect when injured! During all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's important we don't forget them and what they are risking for us. Send them something.

this program really is great, I know when I was recovering there it was great to lay there and read my field and stream.

How come Playboy, Penthouse and Gallery are not on that list, I'm sure that would lift something.:p Great cause by the way.

On a more seriuos note I heard that our troops could use some silly string. They use it to check for trip wires because the silly string will land on the trip wires and is light enough to net set of the bomb attached to the trip wire. Does anybody know where to send cans of this stuff so that the troops have it. We could all send a few cans and help to ensure they have what is needed to get the job done.

it's true, we used silly string when I was in iraq. it works great. A major silly string factory is here in watertown and they donate thousands of cans. there wasn't really a shortage when I was there, but you can never have enough.

friend of mine in the marines did 15 mos. in iraq. we sent him a care package. we were told NO smut as far as mag's go. i guess we didn't want to dishonor muslim beliefs with nude women pics. big thing was moist wipes because of the conditions.
