After finding Shane on this website my friend and I decided to book him for two days of drift fishing for steelies. After a couple less than spectacular experiences with other "guides" in the area I had been a little skeptical about coming up again but I figured I would give it another try. Well, let me just say that Shane has renewed my faith and interest in the river as well as with guides as a whole. We found him to be EXTREMELY knowledgable, personable and patient. He took the time to teach us a few tricks and did it in a way that wasn't condesending. I really can't say enough good things about Shane and his service. In two days we landed 14 Steelhead including a 16.5 lb Male. He knows his stuff, he knows the river and he definately knows the fish. If you are thinking about booking a trip on the SR than I would whole heartedly reccomend him.
Shane-
If you read this post just let me say thanks again for a great trip. I look forward to booking you again.

this is a weird thread. i have used gottum and yeah, he is really good BUT this whole thing really isn't fair to our other guides on this site.

Wolly........ I have seen many posts on here about guys thanking a guide for a great trip and it's not always Shane. No one ever said those posts where unfair to other guides. Shane did not start this post a fisherman he guided and provided a quality trip for did. This guy also thought on the down side of guides from other experiences, Shane was able to show him that there truely are other guides that work in a proffesional manner which is good for all the guides on the SR.
