Good morning guys and gals! :)
Was just wondering what other times of year do you enjoy fishing on the SR? Even though now is prime time, are there any other months you find are enjoyable to fish? My lodge master has been trying to get me and delarob up for steelhead in November, :steelhead: and I've been giving that a lot of thought. hmmmmmmmm...

now is not prime in some peoples eyes, too many people. November would be a great month to come up, more trout. good luck.

Once the Salmon Run is over it will be Browns and Steelhead fishing til Mid May.. With the min. flows & The Nine Mile warm water discharge being off limits to boats, the Salmon River is turning into quite a year round fishery. A lot of the Browns are holding over during the summer months, throw in a few Atlantics and some summer run Steelhead, Bingo.. :fish: :fishing2:

I love fishing the river Nov. - Dec.
I also like March- May
Jan and Feb can be a little brutal.
I would rather catch trout than salmon.

Your lodge master?!? I like that title... If you like Salmon season then you'll probably love Steelhead season. But to echo what Stonefly said, the SR is becoming more and more of a year round fishery. I love coming up here in the summer.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the input. :D
I usually come up in the summer and just LOVE it! No crowds.. and always had luck with brownies :fish: Even picked up a charter one day out on Lake Ontario and had a blast with the brownies there as well. :fishing2:
This was my first salmon season, and although I had a great time, some parts of the stream were a tad crowded for me.
