No sense in changing names thats why its called fishing reports and general discussion,,, Salmon are the key for the fish in the river,,,the browns and steelies are like Pac-Man gobbleling up eggs..lol:fish:

thats because its the cool thing to do. That and talk about how you use such a low pound test tippet and dont use weight, and then you call a salmon a mudshark. Oh yea I almost forgot I just got a new custom float rod that cost me $100,000 and you dont have one so hahaha.

mainly because the predators are gone and you can actually fish for them like trout & not shoulder to shoulder??

I agree it is much more fun to fish for chrome, SteelheadCrazy all the way!!!!

There is something majestic about steelhead vs. any other fish. It may be the fight they give when hooked, the asthetic environment that they live, their some times suicidal tendancy to attack a fly or everything combined.

There is nothing like standing in a river with the air temps at 15 degrees, 3 feet of snow on the ground and anticipating the slight hesitation in your drift that is this fish.

It is by far my favorite thing to do. (Don't tell my wife)

You guys? You're a part of the craziness too! Us CRAZY's tend to be a little bit a head of the curve... we talk about salmon starting in July - about a month and a half before they get here - and now we're talking about Steel - about a month and half before they get here.

It's not that strange... no need for a name change... just get with the program man! :D

Don't worry i wasn't being serious about the name change, just thought it was funny how we all talk about steel instead of kings. I caught my first and only steel last year. Most fun i've ever had.:fish: :fishing2:

Love steel, Salmon are fun but nothing like a steelhead! Besides Kings are ugly as heck!, lol.

I tend to think the "Salmon" in Salmon crazy is because of the river name. Seems this site is more dedicated to the SR than any other. It also has to do with the progression of the angler. More and more are getting the steelhead virus.
