legal times?

I ve read the regs but still need a little clarification. On the SR what are the legal start and finish times? Is it a half hour before sunrise and a half hour after sunset? I ve seen a lot of pics of people with what looks like night time backgrounds?

You've got it right. It is still dark if you hook up early enough, and I think that some of the darkness is due to the flash, highlighting the subject and diffusing into the vast, eerie blackness of the salmon river

In low light condition most camera's will expose for the brightest area in the photo, so if your using a flash then most likely the subject will be the brightest. Now since the background may have a lot of light to our eyes, to a camera its doesn't so it automatically exposes to what it can see, now if you want to brighten yup the back ground in a low light shot with flash, a lot of the new cameras have a setting that will leave the aperture open a second after the flash has gone off. This will held evening out the exposure. setting should be called night shots. but don't take it from me maybe you should ask an expert!!!:D :D :D :D
