I am looking to try something new other than a wf floating fly line. I am considering Jim Teeny C and D,or Cortland 444 SL quick descent with running line. What are the advantages to fishing with a running line as opposed to a traditional fly line? I would really like to fish with alot less split shot. Will any kind of sink tip help me eliminate the weight?
Thanks in advance!

Unless you are fishing streamers or slow-swinging nymphs then I'd stay away from them.
My suggestion is to change the places you fish.

I use the teeny mini-tip, and so do the guys I do most of my fishing with and we all love it! It's very versatile, and I find you can use it in alot of places. Just my 2 bits.
