Can anyone recommend a good pair of polarized fishing glasses. I dont want to break the bank, but I want a little more than Walmart quality.

Thanks

Pacific Traders Polarized Sunglasses at Walmart or Sams Optical Departments- in both RX and non RX are very high quality frames and optics.

The non RX versions are about $65 and are a glass lens
The RX versions are about $125 with a single vision RX, you can get the lens made in either glass or poly depending on your RX.

They have a very similar lens to the mauijim brand "polarized plus" technology and are 1/4 the price.

What ever you buy for sunglasses, make sure they are plastic lenses of one sort or another. A glass lens can shatter if hit by splitshot and end up in your eye (ask Li'l about splitshot and teeth).

I agree, cheap plastic are better. Polarized glass will delaminate over the years. Focus on the color. Yellow for sunup, sundown, and tannic water, red for clear waters with light gray rocks or muddy water, gray or brown for the rest of the day. If you can't see the bottom and the water is less than 4' during daylight), change lenses and you'll see what I mean.

Lens quality is what matters. I like Poly for safety and light weight. But with better glasses (i.e. more $$) more care is taken to align the polarization film between the two lenses for best optics.

I use various models of Smith Action Optics.

I went to wally world 3-4 weeks ago and bought a new pair of Renegade for 10 bucks. Nice light brown lens, and they fit better than most of the other ones that I've tried on in other places. Granted the gander mtn wasnt open near me because it got flooded in june, otherwise I would have went there.
