got up early,, hunted one of the few spots that i knew there would be geese .. set up 7 decoys,, first light, heck even before that one small flock moves in,, im hiding in the hedge row.. the start to land only 20 yards from me as soon as they spread their wings, i let three shots go, three geese down! i proped their heads up to add to my flock,,, about 45 mins later another flock of about 50 come in,, i let three more shots go,, 4 geese! i wing one when i was shooting at another,, i hurried up and got out of there cuz i know of a few more flocks that visit and i didnt want to chase them all away. so 7 geese one away from my early season limit!! that was awsome adreneline.

Thats awesome, I have never gotten a chance to go goose hunting... sounds like a blast when there are birds in the air haha

yea there arent to many residents around here, pods here and there of them in different lakes,, a farmer let me hunt that actually likes the geese but they started to really ruin the small pond, a few hundred daily,, but yea i learned from a long time ago to wait until they are just about to land, im not too good with the steel shot. and those big things are flying a hell of alot faster then they look, so i just wait til they totally commit. you only get one chance this time of year and pa just made the limit 8 per day rather then 2 like it use to be.

They have been shooting like crazy around my house. I watched all the flocks go right to the Hershey Hotel grounds! LOL! Can't hunt them there. Did see a kid running around chasing them up and run back to a truck with 2 other hunters in the truck! HAHAHAHA! Goose season is a blast to watch what these guys will do. It is like my local salmon season around here. I can't wait for the ones from up north to show then my field will light up at the crack of dawn!! BOOM BOOM BOOM!! Goose down! LOL! :woohoo:
