Steve Irwin, The Croc Hunter, has died. Looks like he was filming Sting rays and one jabbed him right through the heart. Thats sucks! That guy rocked!

I never saw a guy care so much about creatures that were constantly trying to kill him... RIP Steve Irwin :worthy:

A very sad day for environmentalism. Hard to find another more passionate man of nature.

I actualy met him once. I was in the Sydney Int. airport in 1995 while I was in college. He was bringing a snake to California. He had one of those personalities that fills a room. I wish I had watched him more. You will be missed Steve. 09-03-2006

the ray was 8 foot across with a 10" barb on it's tail. that's what pierced his heart.

yup what a bummer:( - he was a very interesting:crazy: guy.
I'm surprised something didn't get him sooner:eek: .
He tempted fate way to often:confused: .
Play with fire long enough ur more then likely gonna get burned.
There's something to the saying-
"don't mess with mother nature"

See this on the news just before I left for work. They showed the barb that is on the tail of a stingray the size of the one that got the croc man - this barb was the size of a sword. They think it pretty much killed him instantly. A sad day for the world of nature and all that he did for gods creatures to educate floks about them.:(

He was the only guy I've ever seen shed a tear over a 4" lizard dying due to slash & burn clearcutting... Does this make him an "ANTI"? C'mon... I'm an avid hunter but still have the utmost respect for the game that I harvest, as does any true sportsman... If loving all of the creatures that walk, crawl, or swim on this planet means you are an "ANTI" then I guess I am too... Everything I ever saw/read about his efforts in the way of conservation was about "ANTI-poaching"... RIP :(

I have no problems with crying over any lizard, as i would cry over my dog if something happends, look it up, he and his wife wree on a mission to stop trapping out west, and stop mountian lion hunting alsol.. he was a anti h unter! i know the difference.. i respected the dude too, but i just didnt respect the fact that fame and fortune give you the power to stop some things.
