I don't know for sure but I wonder if they feel that this tropical system that is down in florida (Ernesto) will track over upstate NY. Remember last year Katrina and Rita both tracked over that area (plus more rain over the next few weeks). All of that mess last year caused flooding and high water that lasted for quite some time. They might just be getting rid of some water before the system hits.

Fished it most of the day Wednesday. Still awefully quiet.
I'd give it another week at most. It usually changes overnight.

Also, just got a call from my buddy Steve from his cell phone, he's been at the dam all morning with around a dozen other guys. Still dead. He's heading up to SR for the afternoon. One guy slayed a large carp. I guess everyone thought the run was on for a few moments.:D :D

Caught alot of sheepshead at the dam before too and some of the carp up there getting pretty big ... I bet he thought here we go... LOL...

I think it will be late this year on this river. Water is still very warm. But hey you never know.

Yeah you aren't kidding, big carp! Ive been out there in July in years past just to tackle one of em'.
On a side note, i've tried calling Larry's salmon shop from time to time, and the phone just rings and rings.
I'm thinking that he gets sick of "over the phone" reporting, and just stops answering. Maybe theres a different number.

Aqua, There used to be another place on the Leto side.. Rock Bottom Dam bait and tackle.. I dont know if its still around or not.. I havent been to the Big O in 3 or 4 years... Maybe Goat Ball can hook you up, I think hes right there close to town..

I seen some heavy equipment over on letos. I'm not sure the island is up and running anymore. Thats OK I got lots of time this year. The bears wait patiently every year at rivers edge for the salmon, We can too. :D

I was up last week and took a ride thru, no work being done. Oswego is now up to 8000. I agree, I think its going to be a later run this year for the salmon and oswego.

I was there on wednesday too and I certainly never saw close to a dozen people. I was at the dam and got 2 sheephead and saw a tons of gar. No salmon anywhere.

I know rock bottom was bought by larry but I think he sold it last year. The salmon shop is open but you may be right about the phone. Letos hasn't had a car there for a while except the repairs to the lock wall on the east side of the island. the rock bottom shop was open by someone in the spring but not sure if it is still in business!
