I'd like to say that SummerFest was an out and out success! It was great to meet all of you and put names to faces of some of our new members. And it's always great to see our vets out there like EC, Topgun, Bluefin, Chinger, JStreamside, Floatfisher, and all the rest of you. You guys should be thanking yourselves because without you guys there would be no community.
It's ironic that I am writing this on the night we will be breaking our traffic and visitors records here at SC. Just so you guys have an idea of how much we have grown, we will probably top out tonight at around 2000+ unique visitors just today.. and its only August!
There are a few people that I personally would like to single out because they tend to keep out of the limelight. The SC mods. It seems the only time they are usually mentioned is because they were trying to keep control of a roudy bunch. Being a mod is a thankless job. Tonight I want to thank them personally because they make my job of keeping the site running really easy. It helps that they have all become like brothers to me since this site launched in 2003. All of us have grown together as a family... all 1274 and counting. I also thank all of SC Nation for making this enjoyable for me to do... day in and day out.
OK enough of the mushy stuff. Well.. maybe a little more. I want to thank Toolmaker. Fellas... he more or less put the entire 2006 SummerFest on his back and ran with it. Somehow between working 80 hours a week he made this thing go off without a hitch. I thank you Jeff. It was an unbelievable effort and I know you wanted to strangle me and Cray a few times.
And last but not least I want to publically thank the guys who made the raffle the hit of the night.

Guys do the great people above who supported us a favor... and support them in the future. They make having things like this go off without a hitch.
