Mine was last weekend when I came home, I took my pin out side and stripped about 150 feet of old twisted line off it. Then I took it off my float rod and packed it away in it's case. Then I packed up my rod and put the pin in the closet and the rod in my rod rack.
It was a sad sad day :(
When do the rest of you know your season is over???

When I start fishing for stream trout. I know they're smaller but the float still goes down.

It's never over. I live up here so I can chase the needle in the hay stack (summer run steelhead) :D

When you start sorting through the crab traps and thinking about beer and crabs. its a shame all those rotting salmon carcasses couldn't used for this...

I know it's over when I start feeling more satisfaction from a solid 8 iron shot onto an elevated green than I feel from a steelhead screaming downstream with my line.;) :D

It's never really over....with every drift there's always the chance of that one still in the river. But I would say the hope really fades when you're cathing more chubs and suckers than trout!!!!
