:help: I've read quite a bit about it on the net. I think i'm ready for it. But, I would really like to actaully talk to someone who does it regularly before I jump in.
I'm interested in any info anyone is willing to share on Striper fishing in the Newburg to Catskill area.
Thanks
Lures, bait or both? I haven't fished that section in a long time, but I could give some general pointers on areas and locations for different styles of fishing. Let me know what type of fishing you are looking to do.;)

Both, I realize each have ther own specific applications based on where the fish are.
I plan on fishing from my boat. Hopefully, finding some on my finder and fishing for them that way. What baits do you prefer?

The best advice is to fish at night. I don't know the area where you are fishing. but night is the way to go...preferably the last few hours of night before the daylight. that's where the old school saying came from "hook 'em in the dark and land 'em in the light" Many of my best fish have come between the last hour of dark and false dawn
If you are boat fishing you'll probably be fishing jigs unless you are in shallow water. bucktails, and bass assassins work great. also, storm wildeyes will catch them when nothing else will. -just make sure you aren't near any blues where you're fishing. just match body sizes to whatever the bait in the area is. If you're not sure, in the summer 4"-5" is a good standard
