View Full Version : I apologize...

Since I was the one that started the DSR thread, I still stand behind my points and views.

However, after reading and rereading everyone’s responses, there is one point that I am sorry about, and that was calling out or even placing Connie’s name to that post in the first place. You should all know that I think that Connie and her staff handle what is probably a very difficult job admirably, yet still always seem to be very nice, willing, and informative. She always has a very pleasant demeanor, even during the peek of salmon season when everyone else seems to be on edge. I am truly sorry that Connie or her staff may have been vilified in some way, which should be furthest from anyone’s thoughts. I am sure that Connie had nothing to do with the earlier closing next season. She was only “letting the cat out of the bag” so to say after her boss told her the news.

I plan on attempting to call today and voice my apologies directly if she will accept them. But just in case I am unable to communicate with you directly, Connie if you read this site…

In all sincerity, I am truly sorry!

Tempe,
I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself for starting the thread. It has brought to light many different opinions on the topic, and all are respectable. I don't feel that in any way you brought any negative attention to the DSR or Connie. If anything, from reading and responding to the post myself, I believe you brought several topics out that may change or alter the direction that DSR was/is planning on going next year with their early closing. Sometimes things look good on paper, but when you take a step back and get a different view, it may not be such a good idea. Maybe this will be the case with the proposed 12/31 closing. Again, I feel the post is a positive one. It is only opinions and there really hasn't been any name calling or mud slinging, just several salmon/steelhead fanatics voicing their approval/disapproval!
