curing frozen eggs... in the process

welp guys ill let ya know how this mess works out, i thawed a skein, and a bag of loose eggs, im gonna try to cure them with the pro-cure wizard egg cure,, the loose ones ill try the jar method the skein ill try just sprinkleing with the cure and rotating them in the juice,, i guess the true test is now :whip:

oooh, so you thawed out a skein?...not eggs?
Did you srape the skein before you froze it? You might have a smooshy mess, but I'm not sure. haven't frozen a skein before. I usually just scrape the eggs and cure them fresh, I've only frozen loose eggs. good luck though, hope it turns out for you

If it looks like the skein doesn't work before you toss it try this. Put it in a flat bottom bowl, cover completely will cure or borax then cover with Karo syrup or honey. Let them sit till the syrup is drawn in and the thinner egg juices osmose out. I did it my mistake (fell asleep) and they came out like hard candy. Figured I ruined the batch but was desperate enough to try it anyway. It softened up in the water and the fish loved it.

well the skein i placed skin down, and sprinkled the cure all over then, even lifting the flaps and sprinkling that in there, then when the juice started i made sure to roll it around good in the juice, i put them in a strainer last night for two hours, then i put them on a screen out in the laundry room, checked this morning and bam!!! Perfect cured skein.. beautiful,, nice a firm but not hard,, now im waiting to see how the loose eggs in the jar are working out.. im a happy man already thou.

well guys, total success, the jar method with the loose eggs and the skein method both worked out very well, i have nice firm eggs... totally frozen eggs, not a mushy nothing,, totally nice looking eggs,,,... so now i know:D :p
