Now that you've acquired your first 4 legged mink,I would assume that you'll target that two legged minkie up north,What sort of trap would you set.I think flowers & jewelry might work as far as bait is concerned but be careful I have heard that dispatching them can be awful expensive Way ta go cecil.

well, like a picky mink who might fall victim to a victor rather than a duke, i found this northern minkie to prefer pooolaris over my beloved ski-doo:(
i did have her "working the set" for a time but was unable to obtain a good grasp on her:D (this pic never gets old, i dont care who ya are:) )http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/kromer/P1010101.jpg

steelie will be back in the same creek next weekend-only in slightly smaller pieces;)

took my first beaver this weekend(prolly opened up a whole new can of worms with that one:D ) and he was so big/bad/round/jolly we refered to him as gman the rest of the weekend. 65lb'er:cool:

skun/stretched/dried for that 65 lb bad boy: bout 50 bucks:rolleyes: castors probably 4 bucks and sac oil about the same. after the trap snaps its all work and its not really about the $ these days:o i did save some meat for mink sets this weekend as well as the tail. gonna nail it to a post at camp nutty:cool:

U don't--just set the trap in a channel and maybe cover the triggers w/ grass and they swim thru.

I haven't trapped in probably 15 years but in the big conibear traps, my uncle would use a shaven length of poplar branch (maybe a little beaver castor oil???).....is that still the case???
