New Zealand trip...

Headed to New Zealand for two weeks starting Mar 10. Plan on looking for a few of the world famous brown trout they have. Has anyone ever been (first time for me)? If so, any suggestions? I already have tentative plans but just looking for a few suggestions if anyone has any.
