Need one last gift. A bunch of guys at the office are getting together to get our CEO a new GPS/ Fish Finder for his boat.

Wondering who makes the best product out there and prices. Please help.

Thanks,
Jeff Lowden

The best commercially available GPS is Northstar. They make combo units but I can't vouch for the fish finder portion of it. They are not cheap by any means!!!

I just checked cabelea's out and they have an Eagle Seacharter 500C DF Sonar/ GPS combo for $599.99

There's others for over $1000

Give me a ball park on the North Star.

Thanks
Jeff

A friend has a Garmin that does both and he's very happy with it.

Raymarine is, i believe, still part of Raytheon which makes sonar stuff for the navy. I've had a $200 cheapie for 5 years and love it; I feel it gives great resolution and picks up all kinds of little bumps and hollows on the bottom in both 100 feet and 300 feet. It marks fish up and down the entire column.... it will show lakers at 290 and other fish at 20 feet in the same picture. The expensive units ought to be even spiffier?

How much do you want to spend. And what kind of fishing does the Cheif do.

After searching Cabela's online store I narrowed my selection down and then did a search on google for better prices.

I found a site call Anchorexpress.com which got me the Lowrance LMS 332C with next day shipping for $610 vs. $686 from Cabelas.
FYI
He keeps his boat in Cape May- We do a lot of striper fishing in the rifts and then wrecks along the S. Jersey coast durring the summer.

Thanks for all your imput. Wanted to pass the savings info for future reference.
