Hello All,

I't coming time to set plans for our annual family summer vacation and i'm just looking for some insight. We will be heading to the Florida Keys and I'm wondering if any of you guys have had any past experience with Pelican Cove Resort or Coconut Cove Resort and if not where is a good place to stay.

One of my buddies a guide in the keys I could give you his info, if you want a guide. I enjoyed staying on Marithon, but this was 15 years ago. The tiki bar is a must visit.

Great Ditch the more info the better. I like to have every thing in place well in advace so i don't have to worry about last minute planning. And yes I will by all means visit the tiki bar probably more than once.

Daytona in April. Anyone have any suggestions for guides or place to go alone. I will be fishing for the entire week minus two days for Disney and Seaworld. I would really like to go after some bigger fish like cobia and jacks rather than pole around and catch like 3 red fish.

I will be with the family in Cabo San Lucas in April. Definitely want to fish the blue water. Any suggestions on who/how would be very appreciated. Please PM with any details. Thanks in advance!:)

Why not go north? Cold, you are a man of extremes! Fishing in the snow and on the beach in 100 degree weather :) . There are alot of houses for rent and that is the way I would go in the Keys. If you can't find one let me know I'll try to get you a contact number. Take the kids to Robbies Marina to hand feed the Tarpon!!

I thought about the house thingy, Buy we like the resort atmosphere get to meet alot of different people and can drink heavily at the bar while the boy's hanging and having fun at the pool. I saw that robbies on the internet and seems very cool with a very interesting story will check out.

But i would really like to stick a hook in a Tarpon and not hand feed. Let's see how Robbie feels when i walk up to his dock with my fly rod :D (LMAO)

If they still have the Gaurd dog there, you will be in trouble! Actually the dog is trained to keep the Pelicans from eating the fish (Tarpon food) and keeping them away from the people :) .

I have stayed at the Bay Cove, which I believe is nextdoor, or at least close to the Pelican Cove, if they are the ones in Largo that I am thinking about. So many places down there have similar names. We payed like 75 bucks a night for 2 in a room with 2 beds, a full kitchen, a bath, and I believe docking access was included. It was a little dumpy, but fairly clean, which seems to be the theme in that area. The tacos stand up the street was a nice touch, as was the Mexico Cafe. Definitely have dinner at the Mex, it's phenominal, and very authentic (giggle giggle). Another place we used to stay in Largo is a campground that rents rooms/apartment suites. It's called King's Kamp (www.kingskamp.com), and wasn't the cleanest place we stayed down there but was location central, being on the bayside next to the Marvin Adams waterway, which cuts through the middle of the island to the sea. We spent many an hour catching shrimp, crabs, several 5 foot nurse sharks, dozens of ladyfish, snappers, trout, a few fish we had never seen before, and a tremendous buzz. This was the first time in like 5 years I didn't go, and I miss the hell outta the place. Say hi for me, dude.

Hope this helps

A friend of mine has a business in Key West and it was wiped out by the hurricane along with a lot of other places. I would check on the hotels to see what the status is on the damage before going.
