Since the fishy reports are sorta on the slow side right now, I thought I would toss this off-topic thread out.

It is related to Cray's impending marriage, when guys were offering comments & advice, and when Cray said he is not coming out of the gates with a bun in the oven..
****************
So, I wonder, what does the typical bride-to-be think and what advice her girlfriends give her? If you were a fly on the wall, would you hear

she is coming out of the gates with a bun in the oven,
or will own the poor slob after the certificate is issued?

Whatdaya guys think?

for any younger fishheads that may be reading this thread - you may pick up some important tips related to the Big Game we call LIFE.;)

I think it would depend on the age of the bride-to-be. The older she is, the more anxious she is........

1) The age of the bride has a lot to do with the bun in the oven. 1a) Said bride may say lets take our time and plan a family. This is a red flag as she has an advanced degree planning your future. BUT What is all comes down to is the quote by my grandfather " Men are just like dogs, once ya get the scent your on the trail for life". Congratulations Cray and wifey to be. I took the pliunge for the second time back in October and couldn't be happier.

It depends on the women. Is she career oriented? If so, she may not want children or at least not right away. If she is all about family, then she wants a baby ASAP :fear: !

She doesn't want kids right away. At least about 2 years or so. To much we want to do together before a kid comes. :crazy: :rolleyes2: :faint: :scared:

Opinions of others who have been there and done that... :sorry:

Marriage is not a word. It is a sentence--a life sentence.

Marriage is very much like a violin; after the sweet music is over, the strings are attached.

Marriage is love. Love is blind. Therefore, marriage is an institution for the blind.

Marriage is an institution in which a man loses his Bachelor's Degree and the woman gets her Masters.

Marriage certificate is just another word for a work permit.

Marriage requires a man to prepare 4 types of "rings":
* The Engagement Ring
* The Wedding Ring
* The Suffe-Ring
* The Endu-Ring

Married life is full of excitement and frustration:
* In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens.
* In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens.
* In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.

It is true that love is blind but marriage is definitely an eye-opener.

Getting married is very much like going to the restaurant with friends. You order what you want, and when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you had ordered that.

It's true that all men are born free and equal, but some of them get married!

There was a man who said, "I never knew what happiness was until I got married...and then it was too late!"

Love is one long sweet dream, and marriage is the alarm clock.

There was this lover who said that he would go through hell for her. They got married, and now he is going through hell.

Marriage is like a mousetrap. Those on the outside are trying to get in. Those on the inside are trying to get out.

Marriage is low down, but you spend the rest of your life paying for it.

Marriage is the process of finding out what kind of man your wife would have preferred.

Marriage means commitment. Of course, so does insanity.

Marriage: A ceremony in which rings are put on the finger of the lady and around the hands and feet of the man.

Marriage: the only sport in which the trapped animal has to buy the license.

The difference between marriage and death? Dead people are free.

This delivery driver carries no money. His wife has it all.

All is not lost, and to add some light to the subject let me tell you.

My Wife and I are married 6 years, I'm 32, She's 28. We have never discussed having children other then to say, no way! We like the freedom we have to make last second fishing trips and such. Like I tell my friends, I have a new truck, a bass boat and more fishing tackle then some shops I've been in. They have kids, hospital bills, mini vans and no free time.

Not thats theres anything wrong with having kids, its just not mandatory.

My Wife isnt a :ballchain:

She's more like:cool:

Good luck Craydady. Looks like you might be having this on your big day:snow: Dont get colf feet and :bolt: I've never met your wife, but I bet she's:crazy: for marrying a die hard angler. All kindding aside I wish you the very best.:D

Eric

Just remember 20 years from now that you could be getting out of prison if ya just shot her....just kidding. Good luck and remember it cost more to get divorced than it does to get married so work hard at keeping it together in the tough times and you won't have to sell off all your fishin gear in the end.Hope you have a long and happy life together.
