welp it shows monkeyarse is still around but nothing really on information. i have usually fished the slower water below the lower parking area late fall/winter and spring, awsome fishing down there, less people, last year i went up in january, 5 degree average, had one day that the water did not slush up. we went down there at 10 am no one around not really expecting anything, and bam! first nice steelie 25 inches, after that caught 4 browns and six steelies, awsome awsome trip, as soon as you go them out of the water they iced up,, but were in good shape to be let go, i have good pics from that trip ill try to post even though im a puter moron.

Just a point of information. If you are fishing and its well below freezing and you are catch and release, DO NOT take the fish out of the water. You stated they "iced up, but they were in good shape to let go". A fishes gills freeze very quickly, when you put the fish back in the water it may appear fine but if its gills freeze they were damaged and the fish will die. Not trying to bust your chops just passing along a little catch and release info.

i get your point, no problem and no insult taken, yeah i make sure to keep the head wet on the fish, took him out of the water just enough to take a quick pick, i am too very cautious about the gills freezing, but it didnt happen on thouse fish, they were fine, thanks again.

This may not be a popular response…but you really can't blame this guy for trying to create his very own little DSR on the Joke...the law certainly appears to allow this. If he was able to find a 2nd Roy (or as many know him as Mr. Greenteeth) for the other side...well I guess it just goes to show, "It's all about the CASH, cause CASH is KING!” Many will complain but just as many will pay. As for me personally, I don’t fish there very often, maybe once a year, but I find (as Mr. Moose no doubt does as well) the sycamore run to be the best run on that stream. I hope this is just inflated internet urban legend, though I wouldn’t be surprised to find it to be true.

I can't argue with entrepreneurship but I dont have to fish there. After this guy pays for his land and then pays taxes and insurance (b/c no matter what his lawyer says my lawyer can find his waiver exculpatory.) and then he has to pay for all this litigation in order to be able to charge to use the land. It seems like he is spending an awful lot of money on a very unsure thing. How many fisherman are going to pay to fish there and if they do when does he see a profit? The place is not big enough to support the people the DSR can so how much money can he really make? What does he have to offer the 1000's of "free" access places in the area dont have? I say let him fight for his right. Spend his own money trying to make some money and when he fails we'll be able to fish again.

The last time he "posted" or as he put it charged a rod fee it was right above the archers hole.

For all the people that are so upset that someone that pays good money for property wants to keep others off it. Do you have a door with a lock on your house or apartment. Why can't anyone that wants to come through and use it as they see fit. In America we have rights of ownership, it is one of the great things about this country. I know that in my house I keep a short barrel 20 gauge(I have a wife that might need it or it would be a 12) loaded with double 00 for uninvited company. I pay the mortgage and taxs on it and it is mine not everyones. Noone but my invited quests are welcome. How is the fact that a stream runs through a property change anything.

big differences, major differences, its a joke to keep trying to own a river or stream, if you sure have the rights and prove it, go for it, yes its america, but keep fighting things just to try to own the ground underneath a stream, especially a stream like that is gonna get ya some attention, like it or not. if it pisses ya off that much im sure the guy could sell that land for a good chunk.

Mr Salmon told me years ago that he had tried to sell riprarian rights to the state and they would not buy it. He, I can assure you, did not ask the state to stock these fish in the stream attracting hordes of tresspassers and slobs onto his property. He is just trying to make the best of the cards he was dealt. He pays the mortgage, taxs and when some moron gets hurt or drowns who do you suppose will be defendent in a law suit. Until you are willing to give up your rights to private ownership why should he be forced to for your amusement.

WELL I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START THIS BUT WAS UP ON THE OAK FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAY'S AND ALL I HAVE TO SAY SOME VERY INTERESTING THING'S WERE GOING DOWN.
1 THE TENT IS UP ON THE ISLAND
2 AS FAR AS THE NY STATE SHERRIFFS OFFICE IS CONCERNED THEY ARE NOT SURE IF THIS SUBJECT EVEN HAS A GUIDE LICENCE ( NO RECORD OF IT)
3 IF YOU WALK PAST THE PROPERTY YOU WILL GET SH** THROWN AT YOU
4 STATE POLICE AND DEC WERE ON SITE THIS PAST SATURDAY TO
INVESTIGATE VARIOUS COMPLAINTS FROM NEMOROUS PEOPLE WHO ALL DID FILE COMPLAINT'S AGAINST THE PEOPLE ON THAT SAID PROPERTY.
THIS IS WHAT I SAW FIRST HAND WHILE HANGING AT THE ARCHERS CLUB.
lET ME JUST SAY IT WAS GETTING VERY UGLY DOWN THERE FOR A WHILE.
OH AND BY THE WAY THERE WAS A CHAIN RUNNING ACROSS RIVER WITH POSTED SIGN'S ON IT
