I will be new to salmon river fishing as of tomorrow actually. Are there any special rules and regualations that i should know about? Hook sizes and illegal baits? Can two poles be used or only one? Is the port ontario bridge on rt 3 usually crowded? Are there any "good" spots that anyone can share with me? I only know of the local DEC sites in port ontario and Altmar but are there others? I've been very limited to Onieda Lake the last few years and are looking to explore and start catching some big fish. Do salmon run at fair haven and or ***** creek as well? please help. I'm new and willing to learn and dont want to get in trouble with the law by doing something that i wasnt aware of. Thanks for the help.

Welcome aboard. I don;t have time right now to answer all your questions, but may I suggest you obtain and read the regulation book that you will receive with your license...There are special areas in it covering the Salmon River.

If you go to the home page of Salmon Crazy you can look at detailed maps of the river..

Good luck to you..
