I woud highly recommend Sony's digital cameras. I have been using Sony's exclusively since I started using digitals. I had a Mavica FD200 and I am selling my Sony Mavica CD500 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7533371084&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1) on Ebay right now. My current camera is the Sony CyberShot W5 (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=DSCW5&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=dcc_DIDigitalCameras_Cyber-shotDigitalCamerashttp://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=DSCW5&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=dcc_DIDigitalCameras_Cyber-shotDigitalCameras). Unbelieveable camera! Beautiful shots and I can actually carry it in my vest. You can't go wrong with Sonys or Canons. My 35MM SLR is a Canon Elan 2E.

Canon always has some good features. If only you can decipher their instruction manual.

I am looking to get a Panasonic FMZ30 as soon as I can find a place that might have one. They will probably be a little pricey but way less than a digital SLR. In the meantime my little Canon Owl will do.

I'm looking at a Pentax optio WP I've seen them as low as 250.00 Somone on ebay is seeling them for 265.00

5MP, 3x optical/4xdigital zoom, and water-resistant up to five feet. I have a tendancy for dropping things. I think the dimensions were 4x.9x2.5

It doesn't take regular batteries though

I did a lot of research and found this camera to be the best for what I like use it for. Fishing, camping, skiing, day at the beach etc. It has 5 mega pixcles, 3x & 4x digital zoom, a large easy to see view finder, and 25 auto setting that work great. It is also weather proof. Meaning no worry about taking pictures in the rain or snow. And the best part is that I found it online at Butterfly Photo for $249 which was about $100 less then at Best Buy, Staples etc. I have had it about 2 months and have taken it on three fishing/kayak trips, the beach/lake and aroundthe house, indoors etc. and all the pictures have come out great. I would highly recomerd it. Geeze you would think I work for Olympus.
