FYI..I woulda voted for my favorite band KISS, but as far as being the greatest and having the greatest impact on pop music, the Beatles cannot be beat...they forever changed music in ways no other band could or ever will....so I wasn't being biased and chose KISS because nobody will EVER be the Beatles...werd!

I voted for the Who basing it on live performance. Never saw BEATLES live, never saw Floyd, the Muppets I'm, still waiting for the reunion tour. I'VE SEEN THE REST AND THE WHO IS THE BEST! One man's opinion.
Ace a guy with your putor monicker voting for KISS, whodda thunk it?

Anyone ever see Edgar Winter with Ronnie Montrose and Rick Zaringger, both like 18, on dueling lead guitars. truely awe inspiring. As for guitar playing, Hendricks was in a place all his own.

rancid

Enough of the classic rock. I didn't like it in the 70's and 80's why would I now?

I followed them around for awhile in '87-'88, the tour was without Waters but it was solid. I have never shook the images of those concerts, the 50 foot inflatable pig bouncing around the crowd during "One of these days (I'm going to cut you into little pieces)" or the airplane flying from one end of the stadium to the other and exploding on the stage. Not to mention the laser/light show. All this from a band that didn't need it, their music alone was worth well over the price of admission.

Dude, Rancid is from just down the road from me. Seen them in clubs years ago, lots of fun. MXPX rocks the house also. Nother band just getting underway(more pop oriented in an alt kinda way) is Twin A. Static X in a more angry metal mode.

Its hArd to say,,different music and styles,,,best sounding concert i ever heard was Pink Floyd @ Giant Stadium,,,most wild concert i saw was Mettalicca/Ozzy @ The Meadowlands,,Ozzy told people to go crazy which they did $100,000 in damage,,my favorite concerts were Motley Crue on Girls,Girls,Girls tour and Dr.Feelgood, and Judas Preist Screamin Tour and Defenders,,,the 80's were the best!!!

I think Leftover Salmon should be our official site band. They are a cajun-funkadelic band playing songs like fishey-eyed view about the sad state of many of our rivers.

Hendrix definitely took it to a new level, but I personally don't find his music very clean. all these bands = awesome guitarists. are any of you into Steve Vai, or Joe Satriani, or even John Petrucci from Dream Theatre? These guys in my opinion are the definitely where its at if you're looking for some clean picking. Finally a "general" topic to get my juices flowing... good one ace.

For all you Pink Floyd fans... I would definitely recommend purchasing their "Pulse" DVD. It was their last gig together filmed at Earl's Court, England. It is pretty much the dark side of the moon album, but man what a way for those guys to finish up an awesome career... talk about floating pigs and crashing airplanes. I would sell all my steelhead gear in a heart beat to see them perform together one more time.
