These gas prices are ridiculous,,how much are you guys paying in your area? Around my place regular gas is $1.87-$2.03,gonna have to carpool to the rivers and ocean, pretty soon we'll all be using a horse and buggy>))>

filled up yesterday 1.99 reg in my pickup. ....I have to run midgrade in my Caddy but I don't drive it too much...and at 33mpg the Cad is not that bad at all,
Wait till Memorial day, you have not seen anything yet - I have read some reports where they are predicting the possibility of $3/gal by mid summer....
Hope they are wrong.

The "experts" were predicting $3.00 a gallon for last summer too. That's just a govt. tactic so no one b!tches when it goes to $2.40 or something. I'm not a big political guy or a "whiny liberal" but I sure did prefer the gas prices during Clinton's administration.

Regular is $2.11-2.16 around here. It was 1.96 2 weeks ago. Wish my pay would go up 20% every 2 weeks instead of the gas prices.

I might be wrong but...the "simple math" behind the gas prices follows our president and his "big business" approach to the economy. See..."Georgie Boy" is from Texas and so are a lot of his constituants that backed him in the elections. A lot of these people are getting filthy rich off the increase in gas and oil prices now, becaused they are in the big business of oil and GB's administration has everything to do with what's going on with the prices.
Now, I'm far from being a rocket scientist, but this sure seems like a clear cut case of making sure your "constituant's business" pockets are taken care of...even if it is in a round-a-bout way. Hey, the "apple doesn't have to fall far from the tree" to see we are being picked-clean to fund everthing going on overseas and to make sure "big business" Bush supporters get their return on the investment they made in our government.
Just a simple case to get more more people out fishing together and car-pool to the rivers and streams. Sure glad we live less than 90-miles from SR area and a lot closer to the Finger Lakes region and Upper Delaware. Also a strong incentive when I'm up for a new vehicle this fall to get something that gets 30-miles or more to the gallon.

Talk about conspiracy theories. It has nothing to do with that. BTW it's pretty hard to fit a 9' poll in a Toyota Prius. :D

LMAO - Lil - you must have missed the Toyota Prius promotion - it comes with a Ronco Pocketfisherman..
Yea - Bush is an oilman - but prostituting to the Oil Companies is a Bipartisan Activity in Congress as well.

i just traded my blazer in for an 04 grand am. much better gas mileage. friends say i am getting old but i laugh at them filling their mustangs up every 4 days.
i heard on the radio the other day that the U.S. does have an emergency oil reserve. apparently the ones that know all feel that the price increases are nothing to get excited about. prices rise in days and take months/years to come back down.
wonder what it will be like when our kids get to be our age? scary thought...

Lil...I agree, what I posted is pretty far out there...just something to more make the crew laugh and go...hmmm...than anything else. It's pretty ridiculous all the way around. The bottom-line economics of it all is until demand goes down (and supply kicks in) prices won't drop.
A 9ft. rod on the other hand...try getting 11-1/2 ft and 13 ft rods in the car...now that's a piece of work...LMAO!!! Especially since I'm thinking of going smaller than the Pathfinder I currently drive. Can you say..."Cray rides on the roof rack"!!!

The Turkey Hill that is 2 minutes from my house has their regular gas at $2.049, but if I drive 20 minutes to Phillipsburg, NJ, the regular gas is $1.889. That's a 4-5 buck difference on a tank fillup... I HATE these freaking gas prices!!!!!

Just ran to town for some odds & ends...Stewart's $2.19 & Quickway $2.15. We have more cows here than we do people...still a fair amount of dairy farming going on. Since we are both self-employed and can work out of the office right at home, I'm glad we don't have to commute much. Our "main office" is only 7-miles (one way) next to the in-laws farm. Still, sure beats driving like my brother-in-law does over 75-miles one-way every day.
I may have to start having you PA, CT, NJ members hit our place as "pit-stop" and car pool from here. I can see a lot more guys pitching tents and sleepin' in their cars on fishing trips as all their extra $$$ will go just for gas. Let's see???...that will leave hard choices for some...get a warm room or have enough to buy beer??? Something tells me (in most cases) the "suds" will win hands down.
Next election I'm voting for Bozo, after all what's another clown in the white house

You boys can look to those little cars and trucks. I'm looking to trade my Jimmy in on a new Suburban. Since I am self employed and my job is only about 90 feet from my house, I don't use much gas to commute. BTW it's around $2.05 here in Perry County. Headin' to Erie tomorrow morn. FISH ON! I hope. Keith:D

$2.29 here in Upper Michigan. Thankfully I'm balls deep in snow and we have enough stray dogs around the county. I'm considering mushing my way to work from now until July when the snow finally clears.
It is $2.199 around Keuka Lake which means gas on the lake for boats will be about $3.50 this spring after ice out. Was thinking about retiring my gas guzzling truck, do they make roof racks for cooper minis? No way a 13' rod could fit in that!!!!! Just Kidding I guess I am going to just suck it up.

If it gets much worse I'm going to have to start siphoning gas from fellow employees while at work.
I am afraid that this summer I am going to have to fish like Seth Green did 120 years ago (our 1st Fish & Wildlife Commisioner) From a row boat with a handline, I don't think I can afford to go trolling every morning before work. The lakers will be happy and I will not be so easy going at work.
