Do you guys have any pictures? I have not fished the Black. It's north of the SR right? Are there conditions that would make fishing the Black more productive or is it just the change of scenery that you guys are after?

I fished the Black a long time ago and if I remember right, it has limited opportunities for the bank fisherman when compared to the smaller water of the Salmon River…..is this correct???
Maybe it was the river flow or my location, but it seemed to me like a high current estuary without a lot of bottom structure.

Another place you don't want to go swimming

I'm in DC until at least the end of the month.

It looks like I haven't missed much on the river.....you all haven't missed much down here....unless you like overcrowded subways and public urination :D

It looks like I won't make it over there until mid April

My father might be borrowing the Green Hornet pontoon, so if you see someone paddling in circles, please be patient....I don't want him to end up "Tater'd" :D Sorry I couldn't resist.

Later....off to the Hotel for the night.

Ive fished there b4 in a drift boat,,it can produce nice fish anywheres from where it splits by the wall, and before the bridge and after the bridge before the slack water, not much for scenery there though and very limited shore fishing>))>

Black is one tough river to figure out. comparible more to the Oswego than the Salmon. It isn't the place to be 90% of the time but if you follow the flows closely and know when to go it can be very productive. It is one of those places where you have to watch conditions and get a feel of when to go. Alot of river but not too much is accesible. Most of it would be compared to fishing the low end of Oswego, slow and deep. If you do go take lots of tackle, it eats alot of it lol...
