I'm home in CT with a cast on my wrist, since I broke it when I slipped right after Thanksgiving. I just was bonefishing in the Turks and Caicos, and got skunked, so I'm still looking for the first fish of the year and I get my cast off the 14th and head back to Cornell for school the 15th. Classes don't start until the 24th, so that gives me a nice block of time to pick a day and head up North and catch my first steelie. Any tips? I am planning on hoping for a day over 40 degrees, hopping in the car, and fishing some of the areas that I have fished before, although I have only been up there 3 or 4 times before. So how's the fishing?

I wish I was back in school! I wish I had the time like when I was in school. You are lucky to be located in one of the bext fishing regions in the country! I haven't been up to the Salmon in over a month  !! Read the reports here on the board. The fishing has been good and should be better now that the water level has come down. Watch the water level and the weather report. As you know you will need to be prepared for very cold weather even if the report says 40 dgrees and sunny. The Steelies are elusive at best, and require time spent and skills learned while fishing. Good luck and stay warm.....ohhh.... those college girls, "forget about it oh"!! :p . I can see them now...frat parties :p :p . Where is that Virtual Bartender when you need her. I'm thirsty!
