After talking with a few folks in Pulaski on Friday, I bagged my trip for this past weekend. Most said that the river was more than the 1700 cfs that the power company was running with the added runoff which seemed logical to me, so home I stayed.
I'm assuming the flow won't go down until they get some dry weather up there. Being that it has rained at least part of a day for who knows how long, the big question is: WHEN THE HELL IS IT GOING TO STOP RAINING UP THERE???!!! Anybody have any predictions?
I've fished in water all the way up to 2000 plus runoff, but it just isn't that enjoyable if you're on foot, speaking for myself only of course. Any bit of wading that you can do beats the hell out of you. Maybe I'm getting too old to enjoy the high water stuff.
So as the subject says, and for what the forecast reads and has read for too long, I guess the whole Salmon River area is just destined for more gloom and crappy weather... Still hoping for lower flow, but not banking a nickel on it... Guess that's my pi$$ and moan for the week... Tight Lines To All!!
