Out Of state fishing lisence

I am from MA and would like to save time on the river not in the shop, so im trying to get my new york lisence before I go to the SR next wednesday. I went to Lebanon NY this past sunday and asked a bunch of locals if i could get a NY lisence somewhere close, they looked at me like i was speaking greek or something. Anyways my question is does anyone know where i can get a lisence close to the MA border? or is it possible to get a NY lisence in MA?. the reports are killing me guys, cant wait to be up there. thanks for the help

if you take the mass pike to exit B1 and then follow route
90 towards albany. get off at exit 9 (Troy Road) Wal-Mart is
1/4 mile up on the left side. They sell all licenses.
