I notice on TSS - one guy will say it was slow then another says it was hot - just about in the same section if River... Something is fishy - and it aint the river. Mixed agendas ???? Honesty - vs- $$$$ ???

I'll be sure to tell ya if it was lousy. You guys know I live in PA so when you get a report from me its because I was up there and actually fished. Last weekend was really slow. Had a few to tangle with, but for a 4 hour drive I'm not sure. I love getting away from the house though so it really didn't matter.

The skill of the angler has alot to do with it too. Just because there are 10 guys fishing a run, doesn't mean all 10 guys are gonna hook the same amount of fish. Put an angler who knows how to read the water, understands the fundamentals of fishing, knows how to dead drift/swing/c&d, and has an understanding of what technique/flies to use in certain situations beside another angler who doesn't know any of this....and who do you think will hook and catch more fish? I'm betting on the first dude. You can't read websites and expect to hear the same report from everyone...cause lets face it, some guys are just better than others. So just because a guy says he hooked one fish in a run, and another guy says he had 23 on in the same spot does not mean either of them are lying. Read between the lines and find some trustworthy sources of information.
P.S.- I had a good weekend on the 19-21, but when I got home and read all the websites and reports, 90% reported slow fishing. First hand experience is always better than second hand information.

Hey Fish what's up?! I am glad to hear you had a great weekend but it also depends on where you are fishing to. If you fish either in the lower river (DSR) or upper river (Fly Zones) that can contrubute in how your weekend was. I think it is time and place just as much as skill. Where did you fish this past weekend? I know where Lil was and I fished there the weekend before with the same results. Just my opinion!

Craydiddy, I know it's daddy, but diddy makes your name sound cooler.
When you are fishing for anadromous fish, hit and miss fishing is expected. If you read a report and it says a fresh run came into the Black Hole area on thursday, and you go fish that area on Friday and see one or two fish...does that make the poster of the report a liar? NO! You should of guesstimated where that fresh run is now at, then fish that area. If you fish the same area that the report stated, then you are at fault. Hence why mid-river may be on fire, and the lower and upper sections are dead.
I'm sure you already know all that. But the reason I did not post it the first time was because this guy was talking about the same section of river, so therefore that really doesn't come into play.
And on the weekend of the 19-21 I fished Lower Black Hole mostly. The tailout produced most of my fish on friday, saturday the hole only produced 3 fish on but the second hole up from there I found unpressured, transitional fish and was on fire, sunday stayed in lower black hole and most of the fish came in the middle seam at the top of the hole. Small glo bugs were the hot pattern, mostly dead drifting, but also got some vicious strikes swinging them and hanging them in seams/pockets and the current. Didn't see many other hookups, and only 5 legal hookups from other fly fisherman all weekend. Slow fishing? Most would say it was, I wouldn't. Just gotta know the fish. Peace out!

I understand you man 100%. I also agree with you. Got to be on the fish! The lower black is alwasy good man. That is like a never fail spot for me. You do have to watch out for the bogus reports but like I said and evern you said there are different reports for different parts of the river.
