Ok last topic from me today. Can anyone PLEASE recommend a good taxidermist for salmon? I had a horror story with deangelo unlimited that you would never believe. Am hoping for a nice king this year to mount and place in my new house. Looking for suggestions on where to go.

The name of the shop is Fish Wish - run by a lady - can;t recall her name.
It is at just off the intersection of Rte 3 and Rte 13. I was there last year with a buddy who was picking up a fish.. She has a nice shop and the turnaround time is not bad. Took a look at some of her work - quality stuff.

Gotta get off these fishing sites and finish my work...lol

What was your horror story w/ Paul? I've never heard of him doing anything but the highest quality work. His only problem is getting things done on time.

He does beautiful work but almost 3 years for a mount is ridiculous. I had dropped off a female king in 2000 the estimate he gave me after the deposit was 11 months. Then around 8 months I got a letter stating it was moved to 13 months. Then another letter it was moved to 16 months. Then I was all ready to receive my king and the date came and went. No call. I tried to call numerous times, with no return call. Finally Paul left a message on my machine saying he was really swamped and my mount wouldn't be ready for a total of 22 months. I was steamed, but figuring I waited this long, I decided to give him one more chance. Finally when the date came I got my shipping instruction and final payment etc. I figured I would pick it up becasue it was the beginning of the salmon season anyway. When I went in to pick it up they said something came up and it would be another 3 months but I'd have it for Christmas......Hows that for a horror story.
P.S. The funny thing is, they called me in February asking if I still wanted my mount as they just finished it. (still 2 months after Christmas) Like I said I don't think anyone beats his work, but its not worth 3 years, I didn't even remember what it looked like!

I just came across this in my bordom at work.

Lil' how far from me do you live? A good friend of mine is a taxidermist here in hummelstown. He is really good!! Turn around on a fish can be as fast as 2 weeks but usually depends on the hunting seasons and what is comming in. Few months is about avereage. Go to the bragging wall on my site. All the stuff that i had done is done by him and he is really reasonable! My 3 fish and my 9 point were done by him. I have 3 more in the freezer to go on the wall but I have to wait till he gets back from his elk hunt.[/url][/b]

I think that was you down in the medow. We kept heading down and you guys stayed there. Dude I met so many people last year that it is hard to remember. That was also the day that I broke my rod at 6:30am!! Running like a mad man back to the truck praying the whole time that King remembered the back up rod!! He did! LOL!!!!

OK heres a real nightmare ,i caught a 39"23.5lb male steelie which i took to DicDeanglo,he already did a salmon which turned out great but it was 22months,back to my steelie,i put a $250.00 deposit on it,times goes by i get laid off from work, which put a real stop to my steelheadin last year,i get a letter from DicDeangelo saying my fish will be done in march 2003,ok,then i get this letter saying they built a shipping box for my fish which i told him and called him and wrote letters saying i'd pick up my fish when it was finished,so after 3 letters ,4 phone calls not one reponse he calls june 1st and says if i dont pick up my fish by june 9th ,he has it sold!!,i told him to wait 1 week that i just got back to work and i'll pick it up,he couldnt wait for a check he had to have $$$ only,he told me he business was down $85,000.00,here's a guy that says he does 750 fish a year and turns people alway,no he's $85grand behind bull$hit,so i lost my steelhead and $250.00 deposit...that will never happen again.Fish Wish does repo's her turn arounds are 4-6 months and she does a good job,her name is Margeret Rathje....well good fishing to ya>))> ecsteelheader 8)
