Hey Y'all

I have a very ironic situation. One of my closest friends on the planet is turning 30 this week and he is soon to be a father of a baby boy. He lives out of state and we don't get together often enough but when we do we always manage to take the fly rods out for a few hours.

I would like to send him a book that fits this turning point in his life and I am looking for any suggestions.

Thank you

Send him a subscription to Maxim, that will get him over the hump of 30. :)

I suggest a Bible, because everytime the child is screaming at the top of his lungs in the store because he wants a dam box of Shrek Animal Crackers, your good buddy will be praying to god that the terrible 2's will end!!!

A subscription to some hardcore p@rno would be beneficial, because now he will not be getting any on a regular basis for the next 18 years

I read A River Runs Through It to all of my little ones during those late night feedings. Was great for all of us.
1) I got to fish and learn about life a little- if only in my mind.
2) They liked being read to & it got them back to sleep.
3) Now they want to fish.
5) Much better than the movie & one you can read over & over till the cover falls off.
Just my observations.

How about this one?? Someone bought this for me a few years ago when my son was born, but to be honest I'm not much of a reader..:o So I really couldn't tell ya if it's that good of a book..

I can recommend this next book.. This is like a How to raise a child for dummies book.. Just about any questions you ever have, we picked up this book and it's in there.

If fly fishing is your thing i highly recommend anything written by Tom McGuane....

'the longest silence' is my personal favorite.
