Here is a good story that pretty much sums up the Lower Niagara River fishing experience. it is definitely not for the weak at heart :D :D

It wasn't me who wrote it...my writing style is more like Dr. Suess...

Great story! It must have been the fish gods getting him back with a hook through the finger for using that illegal two fly set up.

He also mentioned the LN was flowing muddy from winter run off. My personal experience is that if the water is off from its emerald green even a little you are better off not making the trek down.

A good way to tell whats happening on the LN is to take a careful look at the water as you drive over the Grand Island bridges. If its brown or ice filled, the LN will be slightly worse.

I have been down there 2 times the past 2 years. Of course I have been sitting in a boat getting hammered and watching the shore fishermen...:drunks:

Keep it up and I will push you in down there...:D :D

Its not a place for the weak of heart. I've had a few hairy incidents down there. Sometimes you have to take the path less choosen. But thats why I still keep going down there. Its called Extreme Steelheading!!
