Based on what we are hearing, there is a good number of kings, cohos and steelhead at the lower end of the river. The DSR is reporting a great day as well as a nice blast at last light last night. This week should be interesting as well with a good number of all varieties entering [...]

The crowds from the salmon season have finally died down a bit, but that doesn't mean the fishing is dead and gone. Actually the fishing has been pretty decent as of late. The number of steelhead and browns in the river is real promising this season. My personal opinion is that there is still a small late run of kings to come up. With this recent cold weather and rain that may trigger the last of the big boys to hit the river and spawn. It would be quite interesting if they decided to raise the water again from 335CFS to 750 CFS. next update comes tonight at 9 so who knows what the future holds.

The salmon season is now in full swing and now we are getting pretty steady reports of the steelhead beginning to show up. The water has remained at 500CFS from the 750CFS it was the past weekend. The current flowcast expires tomorrow night at 9, so we shall see what they do from that point on. I have not heard news that they have begun taking eggs yet, but that may be taking place later this week or early next. With the temps being cooler and the water being a nice steady flow, we have seen... well a steady run. We are getting new reports of the steelhead starting to show up in decent numbers along with the browns.

It seems mother nature likes giggle or she has an odd sense of humor. Last year at this time the Pulaski area was in a major drought and the reservoir that pushes the flow of the Salmon River was but a mere puddle. Well fast forward to 2008 and it’s like a complete 180 degree [...]

I can't believe how fast the off season has flown by this year. SummerFest is only 3 days away and we will be ready to officially kick off the 2008 salmon season with a bang! I am so happy we bumped the festivities this season back a week. There are some fish in the river now and it will give all who attend an early shot of some kings and cohos. Just some last minute reminders to all those attending.

The kings are now running steady in the Salmon River. There is rain forecast for the entire week and it may pay off for those making the trip up this week/weekend. This water may be just the ticket to bring the streams up a tad and even raise the river a bit. In the past [...]

Based off of the reports that have been pouring into SC the last few days and seeing the DSR reports I would have to say that the kings are running pretty well right now. It looks as if we are going to have a later run than normal and the hatchery will also be taking [...]
