Well fall is here, at least unofficially, as Labor Day weekend is upon us. That can only mean one thing, the breaking of rods and lines in the Salmon River with the rush of Kings, Hos and Steel. The weather can play an important role in triggering or not triggering a run and our weather is very active as we head into September, we have three tropical systems and a very strong cold front on the maps.

Alot of you are well aware of the agreement in place with Brookfield Renewable Power. As long as we are not in emergency situations like drought or a low reservoir the river water level must be run at a minimum of 335 CFS. The timeline for that agreement officially starts tonight.

Record Coho Caught?

Rumor has it that a 34 lb + coho was boated in Lake Ontario in the past few days. It has been supposedly confirmed by the DEC but I still haven't heard direct word yet. The previous record was 33 lbs. 7 oz. caught in August of 1998.
