Well today brings a tear to my eye... sniff, sniff. I never thought I'd see the day but in just 5 short years SalmonCrazy has reached 'big board' status by cracking the 4000 member mark! At 11:27 yesterday evening, our newest member 'antstank32' registered and joined the insanity that is SalmonCrazy, and that my friends, has made our community 4000 strong! This is definetly a time to reflect on what was and what will be for our fishing family here on the net. We have come a long way in such a short time and the only people I can thank for that is you... The SC Nation.

The crowds from the salmon season have finally died down a bit, but that doesn't mean the fishing is dead and gone. Actually the fishing has been pretty decent as of late. The number of steelhead and browns in the river is real promising this season. My personal opinion is that there is still a small late run of kings to come up. With this recent cold weather and rain that may trigger the last of the big boys to hit the river and spawn. It would be quite interesting if they decided to raise the water again from 335CFS to 750 CFS. next update comes tonight at 9 so who knows what the future holds.

The NY State Department of Environmental Conservation has officially agreed to purchase The Portly Angler in Pulaski, NY. The motel will continue operations until November 1st. After that time the sale will be officially complete on November 4th. Click here to read the full article on syracuse.com
