En Fuego Is All I Can Say

After a slow weekend midriver and a hot weekend down low, the rain seems to have heated things up a bit.

Word is the lower river is ‘en fuego’ with fish and the movement from the week before should be moving up river. We have gotten good reports from not only the DSR but also members throughout the river are reporting great days. This can only mean the rest of the week looks to be pretty fruitful.

As our featured photo clearly shows, try and take some care when you head out on the river this week and weekend. ‘Bellyporker’ was not so lucky this past weekend. We are going to start to see the ‘Columbus Day’ crowds this weekend as we get closer to the peak of the season and that means many more guys and gals on the river. Here are a few things to keep top of mind this coming weekend.

  • Use your head and keep tempers calm
  • Use your mobile to call the DEC when needed
  • Use your mobile and hit us up on our twitter page @salmoncrazy for instant member reports.
  • Don’t wade over what you know you can do. Know your limits.
  • Ask Bellyporker how to avoid large flies with big hooks :)
  • Remember the one steelhead, 21″ minimum size regulation.
  • Make some new friends and meet up with new members
  • And lastly… have a damn good time… a bad day on the river is better than a great day at work!

P.S. Here is the priceless photo of the day… which just happens to be the 5 day forecast from Accuweather…. can you say FISH ON!

Priceless is the 5 Day Forecast!
