Lake Action Starting To Heat Up

071909-gottumWith the SummerFest tickets now on sale we here at SC thought it was time to start updating you guys and gals on the action on the lake. Here are a few recent reports from some of our Guide Sponsors.

From Gottum Guide Service:
July 28, 2009
Salmon fishing on Lake Ontario continues to be productive. Trolling 120-140′ off the Salmon River has been a good bet for king salmon. We’ve been taking salmon on dodger-fly combos and spoons off the riggers and the dipsies. Off shore winds have brought cold water temps back up to 80-90′ on this end of Lake Ontario. Plenty of bigger 20-25 pound king salmon have been taken lately including a 33.5 pounder taken off Sandy Pond Saturday morning.

From Strike Zone Charters:
The Salmon and Brown trout fishing was red hot the last few days. Browns where coming in 65 to 75 feet of water and kings in 140 to 160 feet. E-chips and flies are thumping the kings and drag around michigan stingers for the browns. Copper 400 to 500 feet back is taking some kings. Be safe and good fishing!
